Opportunities with GCSE Business Studies

It's all very well choosing Business Studies because it seems a sensible choice for the future or because your teacher said to do so. It's great to get your head down at school to learn and get a good Business Studies GCSE pass result, too. But do you know what this study experience can do for your future?

Business Studies GCSE or iGCSE does not necessarily hand you a career in business. However, it does enable you to study Business at A-Level and at university. Building on this basic qualification, you can earn your bachelor's or master's degree in Business.

GCSE Business can arm you with vital knowledge for heading into practically any profession. Everyone needs to understand how businesses work, the Director, support staff and sole trader included. Everyone has to know about their business workings to understand how it operates.

The GCSE Business Studies course relates the written learning content to real-life business examples to offer the most clarity. It considers current issues in the world of business, including cybercrime, fraud, economic conditions and so on. Students learn to see their function in business and learn how to succeed. They're coached on how they can make their mark and how they should adapt to changing times.

Teachers of Business Studies will encourage pupils to look at business issues from a range of perspectives. They will encourage students to reflect on the multi-faceted organisational setup and all who make up the business. They will touch on communication technology, functional processes and the importance of decision-making on running a business.

All of these key pointers will help you to understand the ins and outs of the business. This course offers you exclusive knowledge on how to start up your own business one day. And if you pair it with a couple of  GCSE Humanities subjects, you'll be well prepared for most business ventures.

6 Great Online Resources for GCSE Business Studies Students

So many websites offer Business Studies resources like revision tools, past papers and tips on how to get top marks and more. We now do our bit, rounding up some of the best resources for those taking GSCE level Business Studies.

Class Clips - Business Studies

Class Clips – Business Studies provides excellent videos for streaming in class or on your mobile when you're on the go. Viewers only need to choose the year or unit they're studying to keep current with their lessons. This resource is suitable for use in the classroom, during tutoring sessions and by the pupils themselves.

Each video lasts about five minutes. Each contains advice on business-related matters, such as start-ups to how to adapt to the changing needs of markets. The viewer has several different topics to choose from, including Business Enterprise, Finance and Marketing.

Most videos are short, informative, and presented in a ‘news-like’ format. That makes this resource fantastic for revision as you can dip in and out and watch the videos gradually over time. Class Clips for Business Studies GCSE can now be found alongside the content at BBC Bitesize.

Tutor2U

Tutor2u is a vibrant download website that keeps students and teachers up-to-date on the very latest conferences and workshops they host. This site focuses on correct exam and revision techniques for GCSE Business Studies exams. It is targeted primarily at teachers, offering them a set of teaching resources to use within their classroom and to set as homework for a given topic.

The page contains handy resources, including online revision quizzes, study notes and activity suggestions for teachers. Business studies tend to be dry so these content creators aim to make classes more vibrant and engaging. That does not mean that students can't take something away from this page.

It really is worth spending a couple of hours to make the most of this resource, since it contains very specific answers to a host of important problems. For instance, one article features advice on how to best tackle 9-mark questions. It highlights traps students typically fall into that could cost them exam points.

You can learn about the importance of using exam time wisely and how to find out what the question's intent is. Too often, students just dump all the information in their heads onto the page; a costly mistake. Regardless of how close to your exams you are, you should access Tutors2U for GCSE Business Studies and see what they offer.
